For most of four decades, the team of professionals at McGowan Allied have helped their clients jumpstart their seasons at the IISF Trade Show and NICA Food Show in Gibsonton, Florida.  Deeply committed to the amusement industry, they have sponsored and anchored events throughout the week while opening their office doors, dedicating countless man hours to ensuring their clients have the coverage they need before the gates open at their first events.  As the uncertainties of 2020 have followed the industry into 2021, McGowan Allied Specialty Insurance continues to set the tone of consideration and professionalism as they prioritize the health and safety of their team and clients and elect to forego a physical presence at all industry tradeshows and events through at least the first quarter of 2021.

McGowan Allied will maintain a presence at these events as well as support their partner organizations.  Additionally, they are already in the planning stages for virtual meetings with both their clients and their partners.  Although the decision was difficult, they passionately believe it was the correct decision to make.  Still, for Annie Shugart, Marketing & Client Relations Coordinator, Gibtown has always been a time-honored tradition. “As much as we wanted to be there in person, we had to decide to forego attending as a company,” she shares. “To me, Gibtown is an exciting event in our industry where we all come together after we have had a little winter R&R. We are all in the same mode of excitement to get back on the road for a new year! We, at McGowan Allied are optimistic for a great year ahead for this extraordinary industry.”

Annie’s sentiments are echoed by her counterpart, Lisa Cummings. “This was a very difficult decision that we had to make,” she admits. “The Gibtown tradeshow is an event I look forward to every year and will miss being there and seeing all of my industry friends.”

In their formal statement to the industry regarding their physical absence from the early events of 2021, McGowan Allied reiterates how seriously they are taking the safety of their employees and their clients. “Protecting your greatest assets is our business. Protecting our greatest assets is our responsibility. The team of professionals at McGowan Allied take safety and risk management seriously…it’s serious business. As the leading provider of insurance and risk management for the amusement and entertainment industry, we have to do what’s best for the health and safety of our incredible staff and beloved clients.”

Like its predecessor, 2021 promises to be a year like no other, but as the mobile amusement industry struggles to return to the midway, carnivals, independent ride operators, and concessionaires will be relying on their industry partners like never before.  For them, McGowan Allied Specialty Insurance will always be there.
